Here is a list of things you need to teach your Child(ren) at early age:

1. Warn your Girl Child Never to sit on anyone’s laps no matter the situation including uncles.
2. Avoid Getting Dressed in front of your child once he/she is 2 years old. Learn to excuse them or yourself.
3. Never allow any adult refer to your child as ‘my wife’ or ‘my husband’
4. Whenever your child goes out to play with friends make sure you look for a way to find out what kind of play they do, because young people now sexually abuse themselves.

Didaskaleinophobia is the fear of going to school!

Few people look forward to going to school every day, but those who suffer from Didaskaleinophobia actually feel intense and continuous anxiety at the thought of attending class every day.
Children who possess this phobia can be bullied, suffer from learning disability, feel academically pressured (especially around exam time) or are even too bright and find it hard to stay engaged with the curriculum and their peers.
This phobia can cause intense anxiety, heart palpitation, nausea, and above all, profound and all-consuming depression. Incidentally, it can also induce suicidal thoughts.
Nowadays, there are many medications available for keeping this anxiety at bay, anti-depressants being one of them.
However, milder cases can be cured by sharing your feelings with someone you trust and then working together to devise a solution.

#BRING BACK OUR GIRLS -Poem by a JSS 2 students

#Bring back our girls
They deserve to be free
#Bring back our girls
For they should be free

They have done nothing wrong
Why are they being held hostage
#Bring back our girls
They are still very young

Young, Beautiful and innocent
So are our girls
                                       Pure, untained and harmless
                                           Are our girls

Charles Darwin historical background

Darwin was a British scientist who laid the foundations of the theory of evolution and transformed the way we think about the natural world.
Charles Robert Darwin was born on 12 February 1809 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire into a wealthy and well-connected family. His maternal grandfather was china manufacturer Josiah Wedgwood, while his paternal grandfather was Erasmus Darwin, one of the leading intellectuals of 18th century England.
Darwin himself initially planned to follow a medical career, and studied at Edinburgh University but later switched to divinity at Cambridge. In 1831, he joined a five year scientific expedition on the survey ship HMS Beagle.
At this time, most Europeans believed that the world was created by God in seven days as described in the bible. On the voyage, Darwin read Lyell's 'Principles of Geology' which suggested that the fossils found in rocks were actually evidence of animals that had lived many thousands or millions of years ago. Lyell's argument was reinforced in Darwin's own mind by the rich variety of animal life and the geological features he saw during his voyage. The breakthrough in his ideas came in the Galapagos Islands, 500 miles west of South America. Darwin noticed that each island supported its own form of finch which were closely related but differed in important ways.

The Life of Thomas A. Edison

One of the most famous and prolific inventors of all time, Thomas Alva Edison exerted a tremendous influence on modern life, contributing inventions such as the incandescent light bulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture camera, as well as improving the telegraph and telephone. In his 84 years, he acquired an astounding 1,093 patents. Aside from being an inventor, Edison also managed to become a successful manufacturer and businessman, marketing his inventions to the public. A myriad of business liaisons, partnerships, and corporations filled Edison's life, and legal battles over various patents and corporations were continuous. The following is only a brief sketch of an enormously active and complex life full of projects often occurring simultaneously. Several excellent biographies are readily available in local libraries to those who wish to learn more about the particulars of his life and many business ventures [seeBibliography].
Edison's Early Years (TOP)
Thomas A. Edison's forebears lived in New Jersey until their loyalty to the British crown during the American Revolution drove them to Nova Scotia, Canada. From there, later generations relocated to Ontario and fought the Americans in the War of 1812. Edison's mother, Nancy Elliott, was originally from New York until her family moved to Vienna, Canada, where she met Sam Edison, Jr., whom she later married. When Sam became involved in an unsuccessful insurrection in Ontario in the 1830s, he was forced to flee to the United States and in 1839 they made their home in Milan, Ohio.
